Terms of Service

CourseGrid is an independent, student-built tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by San Diego State University or the California State University system. CourseGrid has no license to use their names or marks.

You need an @sdsu.edu Google Workspace account to sign in. This requirement also verifies that you are enrolled.

CourseGrid does not guarantee that a section has open seats. CourseGrid does not guarantee that any requirement mapping is correct. CourseGrid performs no enrollment action of any kind. Always check your plan against your official Degree Evaluation and with a real academic adviser before you act on it.

AI-generated recommendations are a best guess and can be wrong. You are still responsible for checking prerequisites, holds, and requirement counts before you register.

You pay once for the AI planning pass, and it is scoped to your account and to a single term. It is not a subscription: there is no repeat charge, no failed-payment reminder emails, and no cancellation flow, because there is nothing to cancel.

Full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided no AI plan has been generated on that term's pass. Once a plan has been generated the purchase is final, because the compute has already been delivered.

This rule is enforced in code, not only stated. Your account page has a Request a refund button on every pass that still qualifies, and it refunds you through Stripe without waiting on us. The same button is refused, with the reason shown, once that pass has generated its first AI plan or once more than 7 days have passed since you bought it.

You can earn a free AI planning pass by inviting other students. When 10 people create a CourseGrid account through your invite link, and each of them is a distinct @sdsu.edu account that has never had one before, you earn one free pass. Every further 10 sign-ups earns another. A reward is not transferable, has no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for money. A free pass is not refundable, because you paid nothing for it. We may withhold or revoke a reward, and close the account, if the sign-ups are not real students acting for themselves - fake accounts, accounts you made yourself, or anything else built to game the count.

We may end your access if you abuse the service. We will not refund any pass we already delivered.

CourseGrid is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CourseGrid is not liable for any decision you make in reliance on its output, including a missed enrollment window, an incorrect requirement mapping, or a delayed graduation.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of CourseGrid is settled by binding individual arbitration. The American Arbitration Association administers it under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in San Diego County, California.

You and CourseGrid each waive any right to a jury trial. You and CourseGrid each waive any right to bring or join a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. An arbitrator may award relief only to you individually.

Two things survive this clause. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court. And you may opt out of arbitration entirely by emailing support@coursegrid.io within 30 days of your first purchase, with no effect on the rest of these terms.

The laws of the State of California govern these terms. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. If a court finds the class action waiver above unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim alone leaves arbitration and goes to the courts of San Diego County, California.

We post any change to this page and update the "Last updated" date above. If a change affects what you pay, or your rights under the refund or dispute resolution sections, we announce it in the app before it takes effect. A pass you already bought stays governed by the terms in force on the day you bought it.
