- Preparation for JAPAN 211. Taught in Japanese. Native speakers of Japanese or students whose placement test results demonstrate educated native or near-native fluency will not receive credit for taking lower division courses. No credit will be given for lower division courses taken after successfully completing any upper division Japanese course taught in Japanese. No credit will be given for JAPAN 111, JAPAN 112, JAPAN 211, JAPAN 212 taken out of sequence.
